Joya de Nicaragua, the oldest premium cigar brand in Nicaragua, has a rich history that dates back to its establishment in 1968. However, it wasn’t until Alejandro Martinez-Cuenca acquired the brand in 1994 that it began to regain its former glory. The cigar company continues to manufacture its products from its headquarters in Estelí, an important centre for the production of handmade cigars, with exports made all over the world. The brand’s commitment to quality and innovation has earned it a loyal following and numerous accolades within the industry.

This medium to full bodied smoke begins with a rich spicy flavour and develops dramatically into a mellower smoking experience. Subtle wood and leather combine in this medium bodied, creamy smoke. Hints of spice and dried fruits linger.

Launched to celebrate Joya De Nicaragua turning 55, Cinco de Cinco is the latest edition to
the ultra premium Obras Maestras line. ‘This cigar was made with the people, by the
people and for the people’ says Juan Ignacio Martinez, Executive President of JDN ‘Our past

thanks to our wonderful community of amigos.’
Joya De Nicaragua was one of the first to host private cigar blending sessions in its factory
in Esteli, offering a fun and fascinating insight into blend creation. The JDN master
blenders have since reviewed hundreds of blending records to build the perfect scoring
recipe. Cinco de Cinco is made from ultra-vintage tobaccos, including a Mexican San Andres
wrapper and Nicaraguan fillers and binders in a soft-pressed format. It is a five out of five in
profile and complexity, full bodied and medium strength, with dark rich flavours that offer
hints of cocoa and dark chocolate.
The cigar box shines bright in emerald green ‘An emerald symbolises love, wisdom, growth
and prosperity – values very much embodied in the brand’ says Juan Martinez ‘ It is indeed
